Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) and mindset coaching can help! Rather than work on your conscious thoughts and beliefs ("think more positively", "let's talk about why you're feeling nervous", etc) my techniques change the automatic responses your brain makes to situations that you currently struggle with.

How? Is that even possible?

Yes! Imagine your favourite place and how you feel about this. Let's call this Place A and Feeling A.

Then imagine a place you really dislike and how you feel about this. Let's call this Place B and Feeling B.

Every time you think about Place A, you get Feeling A. Do you do this with your conscious mind? No, this happens automatically/with your subconscious mind. The same goes for Place B - you automatically get Feeling B.

Your brain therefore has made a link between Place A and Feeling A and a link between Place B and Feeling B.

What I can help you with is getting your brain to link Place B with Feeling A. So now, rather than having a negative emotion linked to Place B, you will have a positive emotion linked to it, without consciously having to work on this or work out why you feel like this.

This can help in many ways and different parts of life - just a few examples include:

  • feeling nervous about the thought of public speaking
  • feeling anxious about entering a social situation
  • feeling 'not good enough' or nervous for a sports competition
  • imposter syndrome
  • being scared of failing
  • being embarrassed of being judged by others

The best thing? Your subconscious brain is doing all of the work - without you even realising it.
